Drying your hair with a hair dryer seems like a very simple task, but it actually hides many pitfalls. Let's see what they are!
The drying stage is very important if you want to achieve the best possible styling results.
Let's see what is the best way to use a hair dryer without damaging your hair.
Before drying
Drying your hair with a hair dryer is not the best way to maintain good hair quality, but it is necessary given the somewhat adverse weather conditions this winter. In the summer months, it would be best to avoid using a hair dryer and let your hair dry naturally in the wind. This will prevent frizz and make your hair shinier.
Once you have found the perfect number of washes per week based on your scalp and hair type (if you are interested, we have already discussed this here), try to use an ionic hair dryer and setit to medium heat.
Another important recommendation: once you have washed your hair, avoid drying it directly with a hair dryer, as you risk drying out and burning the lengths. Blot excess water with a microfiber towel; this will not only limit frizziness along the lengths, but will also leave your hair damp and therefore ready formuch faster and less aggressive drying.
The drying stage
Not all hair dries in the same way! To dry curly hair, you need to start at the nape of the neck and dry it upside down, trying to shape the lengths with your hands. Straight hair, on the other hand, should be dried with your head up, trying not to focus on just one side of the hair, managing the heat from the scalp and then moving on to drying the lengths. Obviously, for best results, you need to use tools such as a diffuser for curly hair, which balances the heat output, or a nozzle for straight hair, which limits the formation of knots.
The styling moment
You've almost finished drying your hair, now it's time to style it! It's important to remember to dry your hair thoroughly, especially if you want to use a straightener or curling iron. Before subjecting your hair to the stress of such intense heat, use a heat protectant such as SPA Silky Smooth to protect it and keep it soft. If you prefer to dry your hair using the traditional brush and blow dryer method, use fluids that define the style while supporting its natural shape. You can use a serum that enhances the beauty of your straight hair, such as LMZ Softessence or define your curls with LMZ Refine, a body-building fluid that defines the strands without weighing them down.
