Dyed hair needs more care than natural hair, not only because it has been treated, but also to maintain a better color result, making it more vibrant.
At Tecna, we would like to recommend three simple steps to maintain your hair color for longer without dulling it.
Ready?
No more hot water!
As annoying as it may be, washing dyed hair with hot water causes the color to fade sooner, making the hair dull, as well as upsetting the balance of sebum that the scalp needs to preserve for the best results. So what should you do? It is advisable to always wash and rinse with cold water. This way, the cuticles will not remain open, causing color loss, and, above all, your hair will be increasingly shiny and healthy.
Stop the hot air!
Summer is approaching, and this little trick is becoming much easier and more pleasant to do! The heat from the hair dryer damages the hair and unintentionally lightens colored hair. To avoid the terrible fading effect on dyed hair, it is useful to dry your hair with warm air, keeping the hair dryer at least five centimeters away. It will take a little longer, but the result will be much more positive!
The same applies to straighteners and curling irons. If you really can't do without them, it is advisable to apply a heat protectant to the lengths of your hair (we'll talk more about this here) to protect the hair shaft and color during styling.
Use specific products for colored hair
It may seem obvious, but many people often don't pay attention to the type of shampoo they use. In this case, it is important to prevent fading with specific products for treated hair, as they are designed to enhance the color and maintain it for as long as possible. A product such as Colour Keeper can guarantee amazing results for your hair thanks to ingredients such asaloe vera, which nourishes from the scalp to the ends, and shea butter, a natural hair protector.
